About the Baby

The vessel

Many years ago, I committed to a retirement plan that was to buy a Grand Banks Trawler, and live on it in Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas.

A couple years ago while shopping for my in-budget "fixer-upper," I completely lucked out and purchased my dream boat, and here she is.

We can't thank enough the former owners, Tom and Marsha Taylor of Seabrook, Texas. They've been wonderful through the whole process. We're committed to  caring for "Caprice" as lovingly as they were. Thank you!!!

An amazing vessel, she's a 1998 Grand Banks Heritage Classic. Twin 435hp Caterpillar Turbo Diesels take her to 20 knots, but provide surprisingly good fuel economy when trawling along at 10kts.

With the help of a bunch of awesome friends/craftsmen, we've polished, refit, painted and got her almost ready to head south in the Summer of 2022 (fingers crossed).
